UF Student Apartment Review: Lark Gainesville (Updated for 2024)

With so many student housing options in Gainesville, it can be hard to decide where to live each year. As a UF student myself, I know that I’ve felt overwhelmed by all of the housing options in the area.

While the floor plan options and full suite of amenities at Sweetwater make it an ideal student housing option, we know it is important for students to know all of their living options before making a final decision.

To help with your student housing search, we made this review to tell you everything you need to know about Lark so you can make an informed decision on where to live.

Lark: UF Apartment Review

The Basics

Before we get into the details, here are some quick facts about Lark:

Address: 1245 SW 11th Ave.

Area: South 13th St.

Year built: 2018

Number of beds: 650

Number of rooms: 180

Number of stories: 4

Location

Lark is located near the edge of the southeast side of campus, which means walking to class would take about 20-30 minutes. It’s across the street from UF Health Shands Hospital and down the street from sorority row. Lark is also about an 8-minute walk to Liv+, another popular apartment in Gainesville.

If you’re looking for outdoor activities, Lark is located near trails that lead to Depot Park, a popular park for UF students. These trails are great for walking your dog or going on a bike ride.

Being located on 13th Street, it is easy to drive to any restaurants or grocery stores. It’s about a 3-minute drive to the closest Publix and a 5-minute drive to the downtown area.

Parking

Lark has a controlled-access parking garage for cars and scooters for an additional monthly charge. At the time of publication, there was no information on Lark’s website about what they charge for parking.

Amenities

Lark offers many amenities, including a resort-style pool and hot tub, outdoor grills, a mini bowling alley and a two-story fitness center with newer equipment.

Each apartment is complete with in-unit laundry, stainless-steel appliances and Bluetooth shower head speakers. Upgraded features include walk-in closets and private balconies, available at an additional cost.

Pricing and Floor Plans

Lark offers many floor plan options. Each unit has equal bathrooms to bedrooms, and internet, trash disposal and water are included in rent.

Here is a list of all of the floor plan options at Lark:

  • One bedroom: 1×1
  • Two bedroom: 2×2
  • Three bedroom: 3×3
  • Four bedroom: 4×4
  • Five bedroom: 5×5

At the time of publication on December 2023, rates for 2024 – 2025 at Lark range from the $900s to over $1,700 per person, per month, depending on unit type. All rates are subject to change. You can find current availability and pricing on Lark’s floor plans page.

Certain units are pet-friendly with some restrictions based on animal and breed. At the time of publication, there was no information on Lark’s website about what they charge for pets.
